Source | Seattle is going to experience a shortage of brains in Season 4 of “iZombie.”

In an interview with TVLine, executive producer Rob Thomas revealed that the next installment of the CW series will start with a “story about corruption.” While Thomas didn’t offer additional details about the “corruption story,” he did reveal that “there are barely enough brains coming in to feed Seattle zombies” so they are “going hungry.”

It seems, however, that wealthy zombies won’t run out of brains because as Thomas pointed out, “there’s a black market for brains.” The executive producer previously revealed during a separate interview with TVLine last month that Blaine (David Anders) is going to run the black market. In fact, Blaine is going to open a new restaurant called Romeros.

“I will say that Blaine is like a pig in slop this [upcoming] season,” Thomas told TV Guide. “New Seattle is the perfect city for him. When there’s a thriving black market, odds are, Blaine is doing well. And the black market is alive and well in Seattle. Whole brains are worth their weight in gold, and Blaine has a pipeline to them and a handshake deal with Chase Graves (Jason Dohring) to leave him alone. He’s raking it in.”

Obviously, not every zombie can afford the brains from the black market, so it’s very likely that famished zombies would be left with no choice but to harvest brains from the living.

In the Season 3 finale, Chase assured the human populace of Seattle that Fillmore-Grave has no plans to get brains from the living. He, however, implied that if zombies get hungry, they may be forced to kill humans just to satisfy their cravings for brains.

“Rest assured there are no plans to harvest brains from the living. Rather, our brains will come to us from across America,” Chase said in his public message at the end of the episode. “The brains, supplied to us by willing donors upon their deaths, will be processed and distributed to Seattle’s zombie population. But here’s the promise we’re making to the rest of the country. Provide us the brains that we need to survive, and Seattle is where we’ll stay. In the United States, 7,000 people die every day. If just one person in 10 donates his brain, we will have enough that we won’t need to look elsewhere. Should zombies go hungry, however, It’s anybody’s guess where they might turn. Remember, a well-fed zombie is a happy zombie.”

“iZombie” Season 4 will premiere midseason on The CW.

We’re all still reeling from the season finale of iZombie, and unfortunately season 4 is still months away. But Rob Thomas has teased the upcoming season, and we’ll be sharing a couple of articles with you guys tonight! They contain minor spoilers, so if you prefer being completely unspoiled once the show return, stop reading now.

Source | “iZombie” won’t return to The CW until next year, but executive producer Rob Thomas has already revealed some juicy details about what fans can expect from the show’s Season 4, episode 1.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly following the airing of the show’s Season 3 finale, Thomas said that next season, viewers will find Seattle as a zombie free city that had sort of declared its own independence.

“It’s like zombies and humans living together in West Berlin in the middle of the Cuban Missile Crisis,” Thomas said of the show’s new world order in Season 4. “Because, in the three months between the end of Season 3 and Season 4 begins, the U.S. government is going to wall off Seattle so it’s going to have that Berlin feeling. It sort of turns Seattle into this independent quasi-nuclear power: If zombies go flooding out of Seattle, they have the power to end the world, essentially.”

Thomas also revealed that Season 4, episode 1 will open with a montage of how the whole brain system in Seattle works. “Episode 401, the first one back, because I want to illustrate it for the TV audience, we’re going to open with a montage of how the whole brain system works, starting with a guy dying, showing the brain harvesting, showing it going on a shipping container, showing it getting to Seattle, going to a brain processing plant, getting put into to a tube, going to a dispensary, going to a Zombie With a Brain card, and being consumed,” Thomas said. “I think it’s important that the audience knows how it’s supposed to work.”

When asked if they’ve already cast the star for that public service announcement montage, Thomas said: “We want Laura Linney. She is the perfect person to help ask America for brains.”

“iZombie” Season 4, episode 1 will also reveal Ravi’s (Rahul Kohli) fate after he took his newly-formulated zombie cure and asked Liv (Rose McIver) to make him one of the undead. “I’m not saying he is a zombie,” Thomas told TVLine. “That will be revealed right away [in the Season 4 premiere]. We will not make the audience wait for that, and we will promise that [the cure] did not kill him. [Laughs] Ravi will be around for Season 4. The results will be fun. We’re actually pretty excited about what happens to Ravi.”

“iZombie” Season 4 will premiere midseason on The CW.

Hello friends! Remember our old site special “10 reasons to…”? We know the amount of posts here at Rose McIver Online have declined in the past year, and we want to change that. There was a lot of great feedback on our old posts, and we think you guys enjoyed reading them as much as we enjoyed creating them – so let’s bring them back! I will try to make it a much more regular feature, especially now that we’re heading into another iZombie hiatus (and we all know how long those feel). We’ll start a new one called “Rose McIver Online Spotlights 10…”, and over the next weeks we’ll put some spotlight on some of our favorite Rose stuff; such as 10 unforgettable outfits, memorable film scenes, favorite interviews and more.

With this post, I want to highlight certain career projects which many fans might have forgotten – newer fans of Rose might not even know about them! iZombie take up a lot of our focus these days, but Rose has a long list of short films, film productions and television shows to her name. For today’s post, I have picked out 10 of her projects which I want to put some spotlight on. I’ve had a lot of fun creating this post, and I hope you’ll enjoy watching clips of some of our girl’s older projects. So let’s jump to it, shall we?

1: The Dinner Party

I’ll kick off our throwback with one of my personal favorites! Back in 2012, Rose was a guest on one of BriTANicK’s youtube comedy films called “The Dinner Party”. The film is a shy of 4 minutes long video, with the dramatic tagline “Tonight’s main course? Betrayal.” Rose was a guest together with Jessy Hodges and Kyle Mooney, and we get to hear her act with different accents. Check it out – and prepare for a good laugh!

2: All Good Bananas

Early in her career, Rose did a lot of smaller acting jobs to promote herself and earn money to be able to follow her dream. Between these jobs, she teamed up with Ogilvy Auckland and All Good Bananas (in her home country New Zeland”) to earn some money part-time. In 2010, they did an advert called “Listen To Your Conscience”, where Rose is the voice of the listener’s conscience. Ogilvy Auckland’s objective was to get shoppers to consider purchasing All Good Fair-trade bananas while at the supermarket. To do this, they used a new audio-spotlight device to interact with them like never before. Unlike a regular speaker, the audio-spotlight emits a narrow high frequency beam of sound, which can only be heard by one person at a time, making it the perfect tool for communicating their intimate message. You can watch the advert Rose participated in below!

Last night, Jennifer Morrison‘s latest directorial project “Sun Dogs” premiered at the Los Angeles Film Festival! Rose attended the screening with her friend Karen Gillan. As many of you know, Rose, Karen and Jennifer are all close friends, and have worked on several short films together – like “Warning Labels”. I think it’s really sweet how they support and encourage each other’s careers like this! Our gallery has been updated with several high quality photos from the event, and I’ll be adding more later today. Keep checking the album for new additions!

A promo video for Tuesday’s episode of iZombie has been released! It’s the first part of “Looking For Mr. Goodbrain“, with the second – and also the finale of season 3 – airing Tuesday June 27. The promo video focuses on the fun part of the episode (which looks hilarious!), but I am sure we are in for a lot of drama as well. Make sure to tune in… There’s very little information on either of the two parts available yet, and the synopsis’ shared online is very vague. Looks like they might keep things in the unknown, which we’re all here for! You can read the official press release below.

Part 1: When Liv (Rose McIver) consumes the brains of someone from Ravi’s (Rahul Kohli) past, not only does it have her wanting to sleep with every guy in Seattle, she also begins having some very intimate visions of Ravi. Meanwhile, Major (Robert Buckley) is faced with a huge decision.

Part 2: Liv (Rose McIver) uncovers a shocking truth with far-reaching consequences. A reeling Major (Robert Buckley) looks to the future, and Clive (Malcolm Goodwin) gets closure. Meanwhile, Blaine (David Anders) makes a business proposal. Rahul Kohli and Aly Michalka also star.

Hello Rose fans! Our photo gallery has today been updated with high quality episode stills from the final two episodes of iZombie season 3. The episodes are titled “Looking for Mr. Goodbrain” (Part 1 and 2), and they show Liv in Rose’s natural looks, “tanned and dyed”. After the crazy cliffhanger in last week’s episode, there’s no doubt this season will go out with a bang. Make sure to tune in next Tuesday, and have fun browsing the episode stills while you wait!

We’ve all been frustrated by the lack of recognition for Rose and her outstanding performances in iZombie week in and out – but she’s starting to receive more these days! During season 2, we managed to get the hashtag #RoseForAnEmmy pretty active on twitter, and it was clear a lot of people agree with us. Unfortunately, it seems unlikely that she’ll receive her much deserved Emmy nomination this year as well, but lets get the hashtag active again, as Rose deserves it for her incredible work on the show! And make sure you vote, vote, vote. Even if she won’t make it this year, it could definitely help her for the next one.

Sean Stangland from Daily Herald has made an article on some actors and actresses he feels the Emmy voters should really consider, and Rose made his list. You can view the full article at their website here, and I’ve posted the parts including Rose below!

The long buildup to Sept. 17’s Emmy awards began this week as online voting opened to members of the Television Academy. Between now and June 26, 22,000 industry professionals will decide the nominees in more than 100 categories, and you can see every entity submitted for nomination this year at emmys.com/ballots/2017.

The PDF file listing all eligible actors is 438 pages long, and if you look at them all — and I did — you learn some interesting things, like the fact that “Bates Motel” co-star Vera Farmiga will compete in the supporting actress category this year. Here are some long, long, long shots on the submission document whom I’d love to see get nominated on July 13:

— Rose McIver, “iZombie” (The CW): As I said in this column a few weeks ago, this season has been a tour de force for McIver as Olivia Moore, an undead medical examiner-turned-detective who takes on the personality traits of the people whose brains she consumes. In May 30’s “Twenty Sided, Die,” Liv becomes the most animated, committed Dungeon Master in the history of “Dungeons & Dragons,” to hilarious effect. McIver competes in the drama category, but hers is one of the funniest performances on TV. (Source)

In the last two days, our favorite has attended two new events – The 2017 Women In Film Max Mara Face Of The Future Award Recipient, which nontenured the winner Zoey Deutch, and the premiere of truTV’s “I’m Sorry”! Rose looked stunning at both events, and high quality photos have been added to our photo gallery.
